Short CV

Thomai A. Houvarda was born and works in Thessaloniki. She completed her theological studies at School of Theology of the Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She pursued postgraduate studies at the same University, in the Department of Church History, Christian Secretary, Archaeology and Art.. She continued her postgraduate studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich, Germany, in the Departments of Orthodox Theology, Catholic Theology and Byzantine Studies. In 2004 she was awarded a doctorate at the Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Patrology.

She worked as a research associate at the Department of Orthodox Theology at the LMU Munich, as a permanent theological teacher in Secondary Education, as a seconded teacher at the School of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and as a Laboratory Teaching Staff (LTS) at the School of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is currently serving as Assistant Professor of the Department of Ecclesiastical History, Christian Literature, Archaeology and Art at the School of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with the subject “Sources and Research Methods of Ecclesiastical Literature and History”. She is a visiting professor at the School of Theology and Culture of the “Logos” University in Tirana, Albania and teaches at the Inter-institutional MSc in “Educational Sciences: Religion and Education” at the University of Crete and School of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She was a co-teaching member of the Committee for the Dissemination of the Greek Language and Greek Culture of the University of Macedonia (1994-2004) and a member of the Educational Committee of the I.M. Polyani and Kilkis (1991-2009).

Her teaching subjects concern the textual tradition of the Church, issues of Patristic Literature and Ecclesiastical History, as well as Research Methodology and the preparation of research papers. She has participated and presented at International Conferences and Seminars. He has published monographs, articles, articles, articles, translations, book reviews, and has edited and proofread 11 scholarly studies.
