Brief CV

Stylianos Ch. Tsombanidis was born in Patras. He is a Professor at the Department of Theology of the Theological School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with the subject “Ecumenical Movement: History – Theological Dialogues”. He studied Theology at the Universities of Thessaloniki and Heidelberg / Germany. In 1996 he was awarded a doctorate by the Department of Theology of the Theological School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on the topic of dissertation “Liturgy after Liturgy. The contribution of the Orthodox Church and Theology to the common Christian testimony for justice, peace and integrity of creation “. He is an alternate member of the Synodal Committee on Inter-Orthodox and Inter-Christian Relations of the Church of Greece and a member of the Environmental Council of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has participated in various conferences on ecumenical theological reflection and ecumenical social thought and action. He participated as a member of the delegation of the Church of Greece in the 10th General Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Busan, South Korea.
