Short CV

Vasileios D. Tzerpos was born in Athens in 1976. He is Assistant Professor of New Testament at the School of Theology of the Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). He studied Τheology at the School of Theology of the Faculty of Theology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He holds a Master’s in New Testament Studies and a PhD from the same Faculty, while part of his doctoral studies took place at the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Strasbourg, France.

He has served as Teacher of Religious Studies at the American College of Greece (Pierce College) and Geitonas School in Athens, Greece, and for over a decade as editor at the Editions Department of the Communication and Education Service of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. From 2017 till 2023 he was appointed from the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece as Director of its Historical Archives.

He has offered courses related to the New Testament and Biblical Studies at the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens, at the Theology Studies Program of the City Unity College (Athens), at the Department of Social Theology and Christian Culture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), and at the Inter-Institutional Program of Post-Graduate Studies “Religious and Pilgrimage Tourism” (AUTh-International Hellenic University).

Since 2007 he is a Member of the Synodical Office for Religious and Pilgrimage Tourism of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.
